Activities at Garden Park
About 196,000 people live within a five-mile radius of Garden Park Church. The Ruby Hill neighborhood, directly surrounding the church, has nearly 8,000 people, many having needs that we as a local church can help fill.
Breakfast - A free breakfast is served every Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the gym.
School Kids Interactive Program - Providing a safe place for elementary school children is a priority at Garden Park. Children can use the computer lab, receive homework help, learn to cook, make crafts and play eduational and team games. SKIP meets on Wednesday from 4:15 - 5:30 p.m.
Neighborlinks - A great time for food, friendship and education for anyone 55 and older. Neighborlinks meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday's at 11:30 a.m. in the gym. A Bible study is held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the church.
Helping people become self sufficient is important to Garden Park. The job center helps individuals search for jobs, write resumes and improve computer skills. Garden Park works with Community Ministry to provide for the physical needs of the neighborhood through a food and clothing bank. Utility and transportation assistance is also available.
Sunday Morning activities include Bible classes for children and adults beginning at 9:15 a.m. and the worship service which begins at 10:10 a.m.
The Neighborhood Association meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m. in the gym to discuss neighborhood issues and hear from the police, city council representatives and other organizations.
Small groups meet together for Bible study, encouragement and support on a regular basis. Discipleship classes are beginning soon. There are groups for different ages from youth to seniors. Garden Park hosts several neighborhood events each year including a Fall Festival, a Halloween party, and a summer Ice Cream Concert. It also works with other churches that support Community Ministry to provide outreach events such as Vacation Bible School.
